With DSL internet you will be able to download web pages and files at blistering speeds giving you instant access to enjoy music, broadcasts, videos, and gaming

DSL works over your regular telephone line and there is no need for a second line. You have the luxury of being on the phone and connected to the Internet at the SAME TIME! Because its dedicated, your always-on connection gives you:

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is an innovative new service that provides a fast, always connected, affordable, and secure digital communication link connecting home or business network to the Internet. There are a variety of digital subscriber line (xDSL) technologies. ADSL (Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line) is a DSL circuit where the download speed is higher than the upload speed. In SDSL (Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line) circuits the upload and download speeds are the same. IDSL (ISDN Digital Subscriber Line) is a DSL circuit with speeds similar to an ISDN circuit and which may be able to use ISDN routers at the customer site.

Cable access is a shared resource, which means you are sharing your bandwidth with everyone in your area. With DSL, you have a dedicated line running from your house to the DSL network. Both cable modems and DSL offer high-speed, broadband access to the Internet, but they use different technologies. Although cable modems often advertise higher top speeds, bandwidth is shared with other subscribers in your neighborhood. If more people in your service area use cable modems, your speed can actually drop. Also, since cable involves a shared network, data sent over cable modems tends to be less secure.

The type of equipment you will need depends on your current configuration and your plans for the future. All you need at your location to connect to a DSL line is a DSL modem from your High Speed DSL Provider and Ethernet card (or USB)for your computer and a Splitter for the telephone line in your PC. Add a simple hub and you can connect multiple users.

Presently we are reluctant to recommend any internet service because we have only used a few of them and the features of these services change rapidly. My advice is to use the different services until you find one that meets your individual/business needs well.
